The candidates in the active set of collators (nodes that produce blocks) are listed based on their stake in the network. The active collators comprise a mix of both well-established infrastructure companies and newer, enthusiastic startups that are committed to the project. It’s critical to take data driven decision before selecting a collator. To assist you in making the choice, below are key guidance metrics staking dashboard provides:

- Lowest Delegation Amount
- Active Delegators Count
- Collators Available for Staking
APY is based on actual rewards which a delegator earned from a collator đź’¸. You can find the formula for calculating APY. The dashboard lets you compare the APY of different collators thus helping give a birds eye view on rewards and profits earned in the staking process.
If you have selected a collator, you should check it’s Lowest Delegation Amount. Your stake should be more than the Lowest Delegation Amount.
You will not be able to delegate to a collator if number of active delegations has already reached the maximum limit. Please check moonbeam staking docs for current max delegators limit. You should keep checking the table of Collators available for staking from the dashboard to know if a collator can accept delegators or is he full.
